Professional History
Our Director of Consulting Services is John Vadnais. He holds a MBA in finance and computer systems from the State University of New York at Albany, a BA from Colgate University, the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), and a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from the School of Public Administration at Rutgers University in Newark, N.J.
Mr. Vadnais launched his consulting career in New York City in 1980 with one of the major international audit and consulting firms, where he rose to become an experienced manager with training and expertise in computer systems analysis, programming, and business process analysis. He left this firm to become a director with a small consulting firm in Westchester County, New York where he worked with a variety of clients and was introduced to the pharmaceutical industry.
He started his own firm with partners in 1992 where he further developed the pharmaceutical consulting practice in computer validation, involving testing, documentation, and improvement of administrative and scientific computer systems. He and his partners grew the firm to over 35 employees before merging with a publicly-traded North American consulting and staffing firm.
At this firm, Mr. Vadnais and associates grew the pharmaceutical practice to a significant level, with a total pharmaceutical consulting staff of more than 90 people.
Mr. Vadnais decided on a new direction and to restart his own firm in 2006, leading to Seva Consulting Group LLC.
Non-Profit Background
As he grew his various pharmaceutical consulting practices, Mr. Vadnais had little time for volunteer activities. Instead, he became a regular donor to a number of charities where he felt his dollars were best utilized.
Over time, he has gravitated towards more volunteer work, particularly based on his many years of membership in a Quaker Meeting. Believing that religious institutions can be a real force for good, he has welcomed working with religious people and institutions, as well as others working in the public interest.
He is on the Board of Directors of Africa Surgery, Inc. (http://AfricaSurgery.org), focusing on Sierra Leone. He also has assisted his congregation with obtaining medicines for war-torn Burundi. He helped coordinate two public ecumenical programs with his Quaker Meeting, one called “Holy Land, Holy Peacemaking” with Christian, Jewish, and Muslim representatives shortly after September 11, 2001, and another entitled “Shining Our Light on Imprisonment” in 2005. He also has been a volunteer visitor and musician at multiple communities of older adults, where he has put on short musical programs.
Mr. Vadnais recognizes that these contributions to society are very small compared to the need, and that we all must do more as best we can.
